This video describes how I treat Neck Pain using Dry Needling & a complimentary Manual Therapy technique.
How to safely apply dry needling for neck pain and follow up with a great manual therapy technique to get great results for your patients every time.
These Dry Needling Techniques should only be applied by trained therapists who have completed an accredited course.
This week I’m going to show you a fantastic technique for anyone with shoulder or neck tension. Levator scap, great muscle to needle. Let’s have a look at that first. Okay, Grab on to levator scap. Get some twitches out of that muscle, which is very easy to do, very effective. There we go, beautiful.
Okay, what else can we do?
Just lying on your back for me. Now of course, Levator scap comes off the medial and superior end of the scapula, inserts into TPs of C one to four, and the key point here is to focus in on the TP of C two, because that’s your key point. That’s the one that’s always going to give you much more tenderness than any of the other TPs. We’re going to articulate that from a P to A direction, posterior to anterior direction. Here we go. This is what it looks like. And we can focus in on one side that’s giving the problem.
Really effective technique to follow up a Levator scap dry needling technique.
Try it. Let me know how you go.
Thanks for watching.
I hope you found that useful.
Don’t forget, if there’s any technique or condition that you’d like me to create some training about, just message me on the Ask Wayne section on the site.
